William F "Bill" Boggess, age 80, passed away on December 22, 2024 in St. George, UT after a short, but valiant battle with cancer. Bill was born on August 4, 1944 to Doyle Augustus Boggess and Alice Lola Wardle in Murray, UT. Bill was married to Ila Wood for 26 years, and together they had 3 children. Bill later married Linda K Orton on April 1, 1996, in St George, UT, at the city park (no foolin').
Bill is survived by his wife, Linda; Kids: William "Jeff" Boggess (Tracy), Bradley C Boggess(Andree), and Carie Lee Pruetz (David). Bonus children: Paige Wolfe (Patrick), Candace Jensen (Doug), Charise Lambros, Brock Rawlings, Nathan Rawlings (Erin), John Rawlings (Monica), 27 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and Ray, his brother-in-law.
Every morning you could find Bill doing the daily crossword puzzle and crypto-quotes. Playing pool was one of his favorite pastimes. He loved being outdoors riding ATVs, camping, and boating on Lake Mead. Bill always had his favorite snacks stocked: nuts and classic Lays potato chips. Bill always carried a pen and a pencil in his shirt pocket "just in case." He was known for his sharp wit and infectious humor. He was often quiet and then would hit you with an off the cuff comment that would have you in stitches. Bill was a member of the Elks Club for over 35 years. Bill gave great advice and his kids would often call him for counsel.
Bill retired from Firestone Bailey Tire in Salt Lake City, UT after 27 years. He later owned AAA Tire in St. George with his wife, Linda. After retirement, he and Linda went on the road selling Texas Twister drinks at fairs and festivals. He loved driving so traveling to the different fairs was something he enjoyed.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, and all five of his siblings, Joyce, Jim, Alice, Vonda and Dean.
There will be no services per Bill's request.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at St. George Regional Hospital for the care they provided Bill in his final days
