Vera Ileen Roper

Vera Ileen Roper was born in St. George, UT, on January 29, 1947, to her father Hermand Argyle Roper and her mother Cora Snyder. She left this earth on February 17, 2025, in Palisade, CO.

Ileen was 78 years old and lived in St. George, UT. She was blessed to spend her life as a stay-at-home mother. With her children was her favorite place to be. In her free time, she loved to read, solve all types of puzzles, and crochet - all while listening to classic country and gospel music. Most importantly she loved telling stories about her family almost as much as she loved spending time with them; she especially loved being around her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In her lifetime she was always on the move, living in Mexico, California, Nevada, Missouri, Arizona, Texas, Virginia, Michigan, and Utah- where she always considered her home. Those who had the pleasure of meeting Ileen described her as loving, selfless, and caring.

Ileen is survived by her 8 children: Fred (Lori) Rubio, Elizabeth Peterson, Tony (Tammy) Rubio, Alfonso (Amber) Rubio, Elvia Sanford, Joab Rubio, Robert (Wendy) Rubio, and Josh Rubio. She was blessed with 33 grandchildren; Jessie, Aeron, Ashlie, Randy, Christy, Erica, Jesseka, Andrea, Ronald, Cherokee, Tony, Rosalee, Jennifer, Tyler, Michelle, Lonnie, Charles, Haley, Jason, Monique, Robin, Hailey, Kason, Shawnee, Ashley, Caleb, Denae, Katie, Brandon, Callie, Jocelyn, Alex, Brinlee, and 64 great grandchildren.

There will be a viewing on Thursday, February 27th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Spilsbury Mortuary located at 110 S Bluff Street St. George, UT. On Friday, February 28th there will be a second viewing at 1:00 p.m. with the funeral to follow at 3:00 p.m. These services will take place at First Southern Baptist Church located at 475 W Buena Vista Blvd in Washington, UT. She will be laid to rest Saturday March 1st at the family cemetery in Arizona.
