We are sad to announce the passing of Tracy “Cag” Lee Jessop, who passed away on October 3, 2024.
Cag was born on June 1, 1967 to Paul Marcus Jessup and Elsie Black. When Dad was a baby, his mom would stay up many nights holding him over steam from the bathroom sink to help him breathe. She thinks he had asthma, but back then no one knew much about it. Soon after he was able to walk around and get into stuff, he would take her small appliances apart and then couldn’t put them back together. She started going to used stores to get old blenders, toasters, etc. so he could take them apart and she would still have appliances she could use.
As a teenager, he loved hunting, camping, fishing, and sitting around a fire; he would cook potatoes in the coals and roast small steaks on a stick – he showed his siblings how to do this too. He also liked to listen to music – AC/DC was his favorite rock band – and tinker on cars and motorbikes; he was always building something. When he was older, he worked with his dad in the machining industry, in research/development. He was an expert machinist. He was also a mechanic, welder, scuba diver, and loved to go out blinking (shooting). He could pretty much fix about anything: from his children’s toys, to making new pan handles when they broke off. He was a genius and always had a dozen ideas going on in his head all the time. We would think of him as a mad scientist, Einstein, going to his laboratory (aka the “shop”) and putting his ideas into action. When he was younger and that wasn’t available, the top of his closet was used.
He always put others ahead of himself, helping those that needed it, even when he was going through a lot of stressful times and was in so much pain. He was a loyal father, brother, and friend. He will be so missed.
