Saundra Grant Hill, 84, passed away on April 18, 2023. She was born on September 17, 1938, in Goose Creek, Texas, the daughter of Lillian Benners and Reverend U.S. Grant. Saundra married Robert W. Hill in Kansas City, Kansas on June 30, 1966. They had four sons, Bradley, Grant, Dustin, and Don.
Although she was born in Texas, her family moved to Oklahoma and then Kansas due to her father’s ministry. Saundra was the third of four children, with two brothers and a sister. She graduated from Wyandotte High School, Kansas City, Kansas in 1956. She attended both Central Bible Institute and Evangel College of the Assemblies of God in Springfield, Missouri, before moving to California.
Saundra and Robert raised their family in Westlake Village, California. While raising her family, Saundra was also a manager at IBM in Westlake Village and Woodland Hills. She was a very active mom, often serving as team mom, board member, coach, official scorer, and many other positions related to the various sports her sons participated in over the years. She was also known for being a great cook and for making every holiday special for her family and friends with traditions that carry on today with her children and grandchildren.
Following the death of her husband in 1998, she moved to Orange County, California, to be close to her children and grandchildren. Saundra is survived by her four sons, four grandchildren, her sister Barbara and many nieces and nephews – all whom she loved dearly.
