Sara Elaine Aldred Hirschi, 44, passed away in the loving company of her family on April 13, 2023, which numbers just so happens to be her favorite scripture, Philippians 4-13: “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me”. This beautiful woman is best described as a loving daughter of God, faithful wife, devoted mother, and so much more.
On June 26, 1978, Sara was born to Gregory M Aldred and Becky Louise Hamel in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was happy-go-lucky and an outgoing youth with a cheerful and contagious spirit, which could make anyone smile and make friends with anyone she met. As a child, Sara loved karate, softball, dance, and many other active hobbies. However, most important to her was spending time with her family, immediate and extended. She was a daddy’s girl and loved being with him.
Later on, Sara met the love of her life Richard William Hirschi. He proposed to her the day Alayna was born, October 1, 1999. In Richard’s words, “I was Hell on Wheels before I met Sara and had no intentions of settling down. But, after spending just five hours with her I was smitten. She even made me prove myself before I was ever able to meet Trista.” As well as “I not only met Sara but got a two-for-one deal in the perfect blonde haired blue eyed girl: Trista”. Sara and Richard were married on November 6, 1999. They were subsequently sealed to each other and their children, Alayna and Trista, for time and all eternity in the Saint George, Utah, Temple on November 11, 2000, with their son Kael being born in the Covenant shortly after.
Sara and Richard were an inseparable team; with Sara supporting Richard and their kids in any way she could. According to Sara’s kids, “You could tell the type of love they had by the type of pain he is in. He has a testimony, and he knows he will see her again; but it still hurts so bad.” Sara frequently referred to her family as “my everything.” Being near her kids was essential and intentional for Sara. Which resulted in either working at the kids' schools or taking jobs which would allow her to be home with her children. Sara was so caring, she quit her job on the 2nd day because they wouldn’t let her go to her son’s wrestling banquet! On her deathbed Sara said, “I will be at every family event from the other side, period!”
Sara is survived by her parents: Gregory M Aldred, Carol Leslie Aldred, and Becky Louise Hamel; her husband: Richard Hirschi; her 8 children (with even more “children” under her wings): Trista Hirschi, Alayna and Tanner Wright, Kael and Drew Hirschi and their Baby Girl on the way, Ethan and Jackie Hirschi, and Rhett Hirschi; her Sisters: Lara Anne Beene, Amelia McClain Barrick, Gregan Ashley Gibson, and Rachael Aurora Larson; as well as their families and so many other people who love her. She will be remembered as a daughter, wife, and mother. She will be remembered for her great faith and devoted service. Including her next mission with Rhett, her son, in Indiana as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
In the midst of her life, although she battled 43 major surgeries and 5 minor, she still excelled exceptionally in anything physical, mental, or spiritual. Through these trials she has stayed focused on God, Family, and Faith. Trials and tribulations could not stop this Woman’s Faith from the Straight and Narrow. A fact she is very proud of: she holds the Dixie High School’s Drill Team record of “Most Consecutive High Kicks”. She had 1,250 high kicks and said, “She would’ve kept on going but the coach told her to stop.” And that’s the way she lived her life, she kept on going and kept on working, and her loved ones would always have to tell her to stop. She pushed herself and everyone around her.
