Robert Brent Villet

Robert Brent Villet, 88, passed away August 21, 2024. He was born on February 20, 1936, in Lewiston, Utah to Brent Baugh Villet and Erma Woodland Villet. He was married on December 2, 1960, to Donna Mae Boyd in the Idaho Falls Temple.

Bob was raised in Rupert, Idaho. While attending high school, he and his music teacher, who was a relative, discovered he had a beautiful tenor voice. Needless to say, it was put to good use singing in operettas, plays, many religious events, funerals, weddings, etc. After graduating from high school, he lived in southern California and earned his Bachelor's degree in aeronautical engineering. He always loved building model airplanes, so he knew his employment had to include airplanes. He worked for Rockwell International for 30 years. He retired at 55 and he and Donna moved to Sequim where he designed and built a lovely home. He worked for James Duff, Inc., a company that sold Ford Bronco parts, for a few years. After serving 5 years as Bishop of the Sequim Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he and Donna served a mission in the Mascarene Islands. They were called to serve as Church Educational Service missionaries. They lived on the island of Reunion and flew to Mauritius every 6 weeks to teach and care for the needs of the young adults. They served for 2 years and enjoyed and loved the people on both islands. On completion of their mission, their daughter and son-in-law met them in Paris for a wonderful vacation. They returned to Sequim and decided to move to Syracuse, Utah. They raised a grandson until he graduated from high school; then moved to St. George to enjoy a warmer climate.

He is survived by his wife, Donna, Washington City, Utah, Mark Villet (Karen - deceased) Layton, Utah, Charissa Novak (Dan), Coronado, Calif., Brad Villet, Ogden, Utah, Craig Villet, San Diego, Calif. Michelle Hughes (Bryson), Sequim, Washington, Sandy Begay (David - deceased), Sanders, Arizona; his Sister, Dixie Litster (Byron), North Salt Lake, Utah, and his brother Mike Villet, Boise, Idaho; 14 grandchildren, and 4 great-granddaughters.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Building located at 1867 S. Washington Fields Rd. Washington, Utah. The visitation will be from 1-1:45 pm, and the funeral service will start at 2:00 pm.
