Ramona Blake Carpenter

St. George, Utah

Ramona Blake Carpenter was born November 8, 1931, in St. George Utah to parents Royal Hollis and Olive Wade Blake. She passed away peacefully just one week after celebrating her 90th birthday. Ramona was the 10th of 11 children and was raised in St. George Utah. She married Robert Willis Carpenter September 23, 1950, in Pioche, Nevada and they were later sealed for Time and all Eternity in the Los Angeles Temple on March 11, 1961. They moved to Ridgecrest, California in 1955 , back to St. George in 1968, and then to LaVerkin Utah in 1994.

Ramona was a homemaker for many years, but also worked at Zions Bank and Dixie Hospital. She liked to sew, quilt, do work at the Temple, and loved Genealogy. She graciously served in many positions in her church. Bob and Ramona served a mission for the church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints at Sterling Colorado as well as a mission at the Saint George Bishop’s Storehouse. They were married 52 years - Bob passed away in 2002. Ramona was a great example of love, grace, and service not only to her family, but others as well. You would never hear her complain and she always made sure everyone was taken care of and loved even if it was down to the last piece of cake. She will be missed dearly by all who love and know her - God be with you till we meet again. We love you Mom, Grandma, GiGi, Sister and Friend. Preceded in death by her Parents, Brother’s Lester (Colleen), Ben (Theo), Hollis (Lucia), Norm (Eileen), Danny (June). Sisters Vi (Ralph Loper), Anne (Norm Fuller), Sylvia (Anthon Pace). Husband Robert (Bob) Carpenter, son John Robert Carpenter, Daughter-in-law Karma Quinn Carpenter Spilsbury, Daughter-in-law Michelle Martin Carpenter, Son-in-law Donald Martin, and Son-in-law Paul Stevens.

Survived by her brother Thomas Blake (Dora - deceased). Sons Douglas Blake Carpenter St. George Utah, Glenn Ray (Jolynn) Carpenter Cedar City Utah, Daughter’s Debbie Martin of Saint George Utah and Penny Stevens of Winchester Bay Oregon, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren whom she loved dearly. The family would like to give extend appreciation to Canyon Home Care and Hospice for the special attention and care especially Mariah, Tasha, Melissa, and Amber and a very special thank you to her daughter Debbie Martin who took such great care of mother the last year of her life.
