Pearl was born on September 27, 1924, in the City of North Tonawanda, New York, to Frieda (nee Exner) and Harold Heiman. She was baptized into Christ as an infant. Her brother, James Heiman, survives her, living in Southern Pines, NC. Her parents, husband, Howard, a brother, Harold Jr., and sister, Nancy, granddaughter, Sarah Stube, and son-in-law, Doug Sudnick, preceded her in death.
On May 15, 1948, Pearl married Howard F. Maurer, Jr. at Redeemer Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda. Pearl and Howard were friends from the age of five and were married for 61 years. Their marriage blessed them with four children: Judy Sudnick, Terry (Revia) Maurer, Lori Stube, and Lynette (Jim) Burhop, seven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. They built their first home in North Tonawanda where Pearl worked for Durez Plastics and Servomation of Western N.Y. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining the family, sewing, making homemade braided rugs, playing the electric Wurlitzer organ and being part of a monthly couple's card club. She remained an active member of Redeemer Lutheran and Our Savior Lutheran Church during her years in New York.
In 1975, Pearl and the family moved to Smithfield, UT, where she worked for Everton Publishing Co. for 10 years. While living in northern UT, she and her family were members of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. In 1989, she and Howard retired and moved to St. George, UT.
Since retirement, they enjoyed traveling in their motor home, visiting family and friends across the country. Pearl continued with her numerous sewing projects and became involved with volunteer work for the Dixie Regional Medical Center for over 10 years.
Pearl and Howard were members of Trinity Lutheran and Our Savior's Lutheran Church. In 2019 she joined Redemption Lutheran.
Pearl Marie Maurer died on December 23, 2024, at the age of 100 years, 2 months, 26 days.
A private family graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025 in the Tonaquint Cemetery.
