Patricia “Trish” Schooley, 67, of Hurricane, Utah, passed away on November 11, 2022, from stroke complications. She was born on March 17, 1955, in Cedar City, Utah, to Delmont Wallace and Katherine Johnson Humphries. She married her sweetheart Ernie Schooley, March 30, 1990, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Trish grew up in Southern Nevada and graduated from Western High School in Las Vegas. She lived many years in Las Vegas, where she raised her sons. She was a very talented seamstress and made beautiful clothing and dresses–including her own wedding dress. From a young age, she loved dolls and enjoyed sewing beautiful doll clothing. She was a talented cook, had a green thumb, and a particular knack for caring for houseplants. She always loved animals, and especially enjoyed having cats. In her final years, she loved her pug Lilly and was extremely attentive and loving to her dog.
For many years, Trish worked as a caregiver and assistant for several elderly people. She was incredibly kind and thoughtful toward those she helped. Trish had a deep sense of spirituality and loved to spend time at her father’s ranch on Smith’s Mesa near Hurricane, Utah, seeking peace and solace there.
She is survived by her devoted and loving husband Ernie Schooley, her two sons Delmont (Diane) and Samuel (Kaitlin) Newman, and granddaughter Brooklyn (6) and baby girl, Delaney, expected in December 2022 (Sam & Kaitlin). Also survived by her sister Susan (Ronald) Leavitt. She was preceded in death by two of her sons Patrick and Todd Newman.
