Nell C. Wilson, age 92, of Springville was called home to heaven on January 26, 2023.
Nell was born on May 19, 1930 in Brooksville, Mississippi to Mabell (Upton) and Mayberry Morris. She was the baby of five children and learned to work hard at a very young age. She lost her father to appendicitis while she was in grade school.
Nell worked for The Bell Telephone company as an operator until she married Harry R. Wilson in 1949. They lived and owned a furniture manufacturing business in Los Angeles, California. Nell was not only the company secretary but a fierce businesswoman when it came to running the family business.
Nell and Harry were married for 25 years and had two children: Glenn, 68, Julie (Brad), 57. They later divorced in 1975.
Nell was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed serving in many callings.
In 1974 Nell and Harry moved to Utah where she enjoyed living in the country again. She canned fruits and vegetables, quilted, sewed, and cooking for the Relief Society.
Her favorite things in life included visiting ghost towns, shopping at Deseret Industries and garage sales. She loved a good bargain.
Nell is preceded in death by her parents, brother, and 3 sisters. She is survived by her 2 children, 7 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.
Our family would like to thank all those who helped our mother in the last year. To all the caretakers at Heritage Gardens, as well as the Hospice nurses, thank you for loving Mom and taking such excellent care of her. Also, a special thank you to Spilsbury Mortuary for their professional and special care for Mom.
A private family graveside service will take place on Friday, February 17, 2023 at the St George Tonaquint Cemetery.
