St. George, Utah Michael Henry Peterson “Pete†, 71, passed away on February 22, 2022, in Intermountain Medical Center in Murray as the result of a brain aneurysm he suffered earlier this year. Mike was born on September 26, 1950, in Cedar City, Utah to Lerald and Mildred Johnson Peterson.
Michael was raised in Enterprise and graduated from Enterprise High where he was active in basketball and baseball.
He loved hunting and golfing. He loved and participated in team roping at numerous rodeos. He owned his own business, “Pete’s Glass†and later worked for Jones Paint and Glass for 25 years.
He married Kaye Hafen March 1, 1969, and together they had four children. They later divorced.
Mike supported his kids and grandkids in every single aspect of their lives. He traveled great distances to be a part of their every activity.
He married Kathryn Wilkin Hahn May 10, 2015, and blended their families together. Mike always wanted a “Wilki Saddle†so marrying Kathy made perfect sense.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy, his children Kelle (Tim) Roberts, Val (Cally) Peterson, Mitzi Peterson, Mika Peterson (Cameron Kent), Shawn May, Amber (Todd) Muncy, Klinton (Ai) Cannefax, and a special grandson Jakob Muncy. Brother Wayne (Pam) Peterson. Sisters Joyce (Bruce) Bissell, Liz (Jess) Holm, Michelle (Carl) Condie. Sister-in-Law Sandra Peterson. 20 Grandchildren and 6 Great grandchildren.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Brenda, Roger, Vivian, David, and Grandson Caide Roberts #LiveLikeCaide.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022, 2:00 pm at Spilsbury Mortuary Chapel.
There will be a viewing on Friday, February 25, 2022, 5:00 â€" 7:00 pm at Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S Bluff Street, St. George, Utah.
A second viewing will take place on Saturday, February 26, 2022, 12:30 â€" 1:30 pm at Spilsbury Mortuary.
