Michael Shane Bankhead

Michael Shane Bankhead, age 46, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on February 11, 2022. He was born in Tooele, Utah on June 21, 1975. He was the son of J. Keith Bankhead and Hilde Bankhead (Brunhilde Lang) He grew up in St. George, Utah and was raised there By Hilde and his Stepfather L. Wayne Olsen. He graduated from Dixie High School.

Michael had a very loving and compassionate soul; he was kind and helpful to all he met and was always happy to tell jokes and make people laugh. He was a very talented drummer and many at Dixie High School will remember his incredible drum solos and playing which kept the high school rocking to the rhythm of his own beat. He was a great hand at golf and talented on the jet ski where he had won and placed in several races and competitions. He will be missed dearly.

Michael is survived by his sister Cecelia Gamez, brother in-law Eli Gamez, of St. George, Utah, Brother Walter Bankhead, sister in-law Jennifer Bankhead, St. George, Utah, sister Julie Bankhead, brother in-law Mark Martinez, Salt Lake City, Utah. Mother Hilde Olsen, St. George, Utah. He was preceded in death by his Brother Daniel Bankhead, sister Laurie Bankhead, and Father Keith Bankhead and L. Wayne Olsen.

Funeral services will be held February 17th at 10:00 a.m. at the St. George First Ward Chapel 591 West 500 North, St. George, Utah. Interment will be at the Tonaquint Cemetery in St. George, Utah.
