On Monday June 27, 2022, Michael Brent Antonio, a loving husband, father, son, and brother passed away from a pulmonary embolism at the young age of 44.
Mike was born on October 29, 1977, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Michael Lee Antonio and Luann Marcellin. His parents were avid bowlers and his father always played softball in the summers. He spent most of his childhood in Salt Lake City at the bowling alley or at the ballpark.
Mike moved to Brigham City in 1993, he attended and graduated from Box Elder High school in 1996, where he was a part of the 1996 State Championship football team. He also loved field & track and weightlifting.
On August 1, 1997, he married his high school sweetheart and best friend Jennifer K. Jensen, and they made a home together living in Brigham City, Utah. On April 27, 2019, the family was sealed for time and eternity in the St. George Temple.
Mike started working at Smiths in September of 1996 as a “can stacker.” With his hard work he moved up to become the Grocery Manager in both the Brigham City and Layton stores before moving his family to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2003; where he took an Assistant Manager position. Over the next 14 years Mike was continuously learning and growing to be able to move his family again in 2017 to St. George, Utah where he opened, led, and grew the Smiths Marketplace as the Store Manager.
Anyone who knew Mike knew his love for sports (Utes, Yankees, and the Broncos).
Mike brought a unique humor to everything and was always making people smile and laugh. His humor, wit, and charm gained him friends wherever he went. Mike had a big and giving heart, he was always helping anywhere he could either in family, work, the ward, and/or neighborhood.
Mike is survived by his wife Jennifer, children Jaren (20), Kennadee (14), Gage (10), and Madalynn (8) currently in St. George, Utah. He is also survived by his sister Nicole Antonio, Ogden, Utah, in-laws Alan Jensen (Jude), Shauna Steinmetz (Chad), sisters-in-law Lisa Jensen and Krissy Jensen. Also, by 3 nephews and 2 nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, and both set of grandparents.
As a family, we are devastated, heartbroken and simply lost. There are no words for how much we loved Mike. He will be deeply missed.
