Melody Jean Tisdale

Melody Jean Tisdale passed away peacefully October 24, 2021, in St. George, Utah, after a courageous battle with Covid. Melody was born on January 20, 1961, in Thousand Oaks, Ventura, California to LaVern Edmund and Ruth Leona (Russell) Rasmussen. She married Michael Wayne Tisdale November 8, 1996, in St. George, Washington, Utah. She grew up in Reseda and Simi Valley, California and spent her earlier adult years in Sylmar, California.

Melody was a resident of La Verkin, Utah for 25 years and worked in several occupations, but primarily for 15 years as a machinist for SKF. She loved her family and especially her grandchildren. She and Mike hosted many gatherings for family and friends at which all were treated to their love of cooking. She thoroughly enjoyed crafts and got her family started in genealogy. Mel loved the outdoors and often fished with Mike or watched him play softball. Together they gave much service to their neighbors and friends.

She is survived by her father, Vern Rasmussen; her husband, Mike; her son, Tristan (all from La Verkin); daughter, Ginger (Charles) Davis of Williamsburg, Virginia; sister, Tracy Lee (Steve) Fairhurst of St. George, Utah; brother, Donald F. (Bernadette) Rasmussen of Simi Valley, California; half-sister, Charissa (Joe) Rasmussen of Newburg, Oregon; and stepchildren, Malcom Tisdale, and Ashley Tisdale, both of St. George, Utah. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Rasmussen; son, Daniel Byrns; and sister Christina Rasmussen.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 1, 2021, at 11:00 am in the La Verkin Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 70 South 300 West, La Verkin, Utah. Viewing will be held before the service from 9:30 am – 10:30 am.
