Maxine Peay Forshee passed away on April 2, 2023, at the age of 98, from causes incident to old age. She was born on October 18, 1924, in Provo, Utah, to Sterling G. Peay and Eva Hardy Peay. She was the third of three daughters. She was raised in Provo, attending Franklin elementary, Dixon Jr. High school, graduated from Provo High School, and attended the LDS Business College. She married Kenneth M. Forshee on June 16, 1958, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She worked as a telephone operator at different businesses, but most of her time was at Brigham Young University from where she retired. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and has served in several ward callings including organist, conductor, and Relief Society positions.
Maxine is survived by her sons Michael (Lou Ann) Forshee, and Kenneth Forshee, Jr. She also has several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in his death by her husband, parents, both older sisters, and son Ralph Winfield Forshee.
A viewing will be held Monday, April 10, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 South Bluff Street, St. George, Utah.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Washington City Cemetery, 300 Park View Dr, Washington, UT.
A viewing from 9:30-10:45 am, prior to services, will be held at Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 South Bluff Street, St. George, Utah.
Interment will be at the Washington City Cemetery, following the funeral services.
