Madge Wilson Nelson

September 17, 1955 — February 2, 2023

Madge Wilson Nelson, 67, passed away peacefully February 2nd, at home surrounded by her family. Madge was born to Larry and Callie Stevenson Wilson, in Jacksonville Florida on September 17, 1955.

She was the middle child and the only daughter, which made her mother’s dreams come true. She was raised as a Navy brat and growing up never spending too much time in one place but has very fond memories of her time in Japan. The family came back to Utah where she spent her teenage years and graduated from Altamont High school in 1973. It was not uncommon to see Mom riding her motorcycle around town with her long dark hair blowing beneath her helmet.

Madge then moved to Utah County to start college and it was during this time she met her eternal love, “her Davey”. They started dating and soon after Dad told her he loved her, and they were married 3 months later in the Manti LDS temple on June 14, 1974. Madge has always said that her life really began when she met Dave. They had the kind of eternal love and friendship couples strive for. They immediately started a family and were blessed with five children. Mom spent her time raising a family and had a love for sewing and teaching. She taught sewing for over 10 years in her home and made many of her children’s clothes. Once her children were a little older, she took a job in the fabric department at Wal-Mart where she spent 27 years working in different departments but had the best memories of photo lab and vision center.

Mom is known for her kind heart, her loving personality, and ability to always be there for anyone. Her house was always open, and she welcomed you with loving arms, a warm smile, and a hug. Mom never could turn anyone in need away, and she always made time and room for you in her life. Madge has always been proud of her children and made sure to tell everyone about how great her children were doing, but her grandchildren brought her the most joy and has told us they will be who she will miss the most.

Madge is survived by her children, Larry Christian (Ellen), Timothy David (Katie), Tiffany Tara Healey (Steven), Cody Shawn (Nicole), Kindi Nicole Moosman (Justin) and her beloved 10 grandchildren, her siblings, Larry Wilson, Blane (Dara) Wilson. She is proceeded in death by her eternal companion Dave Nelson, her parents Larry and Callie Wilson, her in-laws Rees and Fern Nelson, and her sister in-law Judy.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Applegate Hospice services for the extraordinary care, compassion, and love they showed our mother.
