Lorraine Whittaker

Lorraine Lyle Whittaker, 94 years old, quietly passed away in her sleep, July 27, 2024, at her home in St. George Utah. Lorraine was born April 26, 1930, in St. George Utah, the daughter of LeRoy and Blanche Fullerton Lyle.

She grew up in St. George, but later moved with her family to the East Coast. She met and married Joseph Earl Whittaker after meeting him in Pennsylvania. Joe and Lorraine moved to California where they raised their family, then later returned to St. George after Joe's retirement. They shared their lives together for almost 50 years before Joe passed away in 2008.

Joe and Lorraine were the parents of two sons. Gerald (Jerry) Bruce Whittaker and Brett Whittaker.

Lorraine enjoyed being a wife, mother, and homemaker and loved collecting dolls and other items. She also nannied for some families in California and was proud of her ability to safely drive around the country and in Europe, even in her older years.

She is survived by her son Brett, and four grandchildren, Tiffany, Melissa, Ashly and Justin and other special relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Joe, brothers, Calvin Lyle and Ronny Lyle, sister Maxine Lyle Terrana, and son, Jerry.

Friends and family are invited to a viewing at the Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 South Bluff St., St. George Utah, on Friday, August 9, 2024, 9-10 AM with Interment following at the St. George Cemetery.
