Linda Brooks-Boer

Linda Brooks-Boer (also known as Linda Harmer) was born in Santa Monica, CA, on September 23, 1945 to Clyde Henderson Brooks and Vivian Esther Solace Brooks. Her siblings in birth order are Clyde, Carol, herself and William. Her father was killed in a plane accident while working for Howard Hughes; her mother then raised her four children and never remarried. From this upbringing, Linda learned resilience, diligence, and devotion to her family and faith.

Linda is survived by her husband, Dr. Mac Harmer, and his son Micah (Noelle), and her children Kurt Boer (Angi LaMar), Kevin Boer (Cindy) and Rachel Trager (Daunty), her sister Carol Haynes (Walt), and many grandchildren.

For over 20 years she taught elementary education and received masters' degrees in administration and teaching. She also administered Title IX programs in elementary education. In the late 90s she moved to Canyon Lake, CA where she met and married Dr. Mac and volunteered at Canyon Lake Community Church.

After retiring, Linda and Mac moved to SunRiver in St. George, UT and became very involved with South Mountain Community Church, hosting and attending small group Bible studies. Linda enjoyed gardening, canning, quilting, traveling, and sewing, and was known for her hospitality and generosity to all. She had a great love for family and friends and brought people together.

Linda passed away in St. George, UT on February 13, 2025 after complications from an operation in December. The Bible verse of great comfort to her was Proverbs 3:5-6.

Services will be Thursday, February 20 at 10 am at South Mountain Community Church, 3158 E 2000 S, St. George. In lieu of flowers memorials can be directed to The Well Pregnancy Resource Center (https://thewellprc.org/).
