Lew left this world on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at 6:49 pm to go ride the highways of Heaven.
Born February 13, 1947, in Dover, Pennsylvania. He was the youngest son of the late Jacob Richard Spangler and the late Mildred Zora Crane Spangler.
He was a hardworkin', truck drivin', man, the epitome of strength and pride. He enjoyed raising his children and working on all different types of trucks and cars. He especially loved the outdoors, and you could often find him out fishing, hunting, or shooting his favorite guns. A man's man to say the least. Enjoying the simple things in life and just proud to be himself. Lew made many amazing friends everywhere he would go and was the type of man that you never had to guess where you stood with him. If he liked ya, he liked ya. There was an undeniable stubbornness to Lew that inspired his friends and family to never give up and to go after all the things life has to offer. To know Lew was to know a love and loyalty that never faltered.
Lew is survived by one incredible son Gary Joe Spangler (Janine) of New Oxford, Pennsylvania, as well as his three beautiful daughters; Carol Beard (Brian) of Oswego, Illinois, Marybeth Bean (Josh) of Veyo, Utah, and Marie Lewise (Spangler) Lamoreaux (D.J.) of St. George, Utah. Two amazing granddaughters Ashley Nicole Jensen of St. Charles, Illinois, and Victoria Lynn Jensen of Woodridge, Illinois. Four adventurous grandsons Marius James Lucchetti, David Leo Lucchetti, Jericho Orion Gibbs, and Zachary Moon Gibbs all of St. George, Utah, as well as four bonus grandchildren Spencer, Mason, Bailey, and Shyanne Gibbs. One great-grandson James Aston Jensen of St. Charles, Illinois. He is also survived by his older brother Larry Spangler of Wellsville, Pennsylvania.
In addition to his parents, Lewis is preceded in death by his brothers David and Charles Spangler both of Dover, Pennsylvania, and his two sisters Hazel A. Hollinger, and Theda A. Lauer both of York, Pennsylvania.
