Lawrence Edward Cummins passed away June 29, 2023. He suffered for 2 years with lung cancer. Occupation was with operating engineers and he belonged to local 627 out of Tulsa Oklahoma. He was active in that profession from 1980 to 2014. He was sought after as he could run anything from crane to scraper. He owned his own excavation business for 13 years with in that time frame. L.E. Cummins Excavation L.L.C. then went to 10-4 Trucking L.L.C.
He certainly loved to ride horses, motorcycles, boating, and racing pigeons. He moved to southern California in 1989 and met his future wife Vicky. They were married for 35 years. In 1991 they moved to southern Utah and have enjoyed the little town of Leeds. He loved his family very much and was an up front kind of person. He did not have any filter when it came to what needed to be said. Any transaction was done with a hand shake, that was his word.
He is survived by his wife Vicky, daughter Leslie Hursh, son Thomas Cummins, brother Dale Cummins, and sister Rebecca Hamerly. Three grandchildren, Keaten Danielle Steele, Kasey Rene McDonough, and Gavin Thomas Cummins. Two great grandchildren, Axel Edward Steele, and Diesel Clyde Steele.
Arrangements are made under the direction of Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S Bluff Street, St. George, Utah. 435-673-2454. Family and friends are invited to sign Lawrence's online guest book at www.spilsburymortuar.com
