Kaleb Maclain Paxman

Kaleb Maclain Paxman, age 33, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 4, 2023, in Washington, Utah. He is our brother, uncle, nephew, father, and best friend.

Kaleb was born on July 17, 1990, in St. George, Utah, to John Clare Paxman and Tammy Turnbeaugh Paxman. He’s the youngest of his siblings.

Kaleb brought immense laughter and energy to the home. On his 3rd birthday he and his family moved to Middleton from Ivins, Utah. He was raised there, Tremonton, and Washington, Utah before finally moving to Salina, Utah in 2012 with the love of his life, Kandace Boswell. They were married in June 2014. They remained very close friends even after their divorce in 2021.

Kaleb was authentically, unapologetically, Kaleb, no matter who he was around. His sense of humor was unmatched. He was a wild card, always doing or saying what you’d least expect. He was constantly making people laugh, even complete strangers. That was his passion! He loved hiking, finding and collecting rocks, coins and old books, finding things to recycle or repurpose, hanging out with family and friends, camping, and fire! He loved playing his guitars, drums and making music! He enjoyed working as a commercial tire service technician for GCR and CMC.

Kaleb was the kind of guy you could call anytime day or night and he would be there for you. He would give you his last dollar, share anything he had and give you the bigger piece, listen while you vented and make you laugh to cheer you up, rally when you needed him to, drive for miles to rescue you and not think twice about it or expect anything in return. He was very protective of his family and friends. He was great at keeping in touch with as many of them as possible. He’d hike with trash bags and clean up any garbage that he’d find along the way. He went out of his way to show kindness and support to all walks of life. He didn't judge people and would get upset if anyone else did. He said, “there's no such thing as normal”. He loved being weird!

Thank you for being a part of his life, giving him someone to love, going on adventures with him, making memories with him, making music with him, being there for him when he needed you to, giving him a reason to smile and laugh that hilarious Kaleb laugh, kicking him in the butt when he needed it, forgiving him, helping him succeed and loving him no matter what! From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!

Kaleb, we love you beyond measure! We will be forever changed, and you will be forever missed! Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure.

He is survived by his son, Kazen Paxman; brothers, Dustin Paxman, Levi Yoder, Patrick Wilson and Garrett Wilson; sisters, Destiny Nelson and Shayla (Chris) Hansen; stepdad, Bob Hunsaker; uncles, Kelly Paxman, Chad Turnbeaugh and Mike Gamble; aunts, Laura Frei, Shana Paxman and Crystal Erickson; nieces, Kallianne, Kianna, Paige, Lexus, Kamashay, Kaya, Kaylyn, and Jaylia; and too many friends to name!

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tammy Gale Hunsaker and John Clare Paxman; aunt, Vickie Hatch; uncle, Terry Turnbeaugh; and his grandparents, Clare Paxman, Gelane Paxman, George Turnbeaugh and Dixie Wyatt.
