Josephine (Joey) Ashby

Our beautiful wife and mother Joey Ashby of St. George, Utah passed away on December 28th 2024. She was 85. Joey was born in St. George on November 5th 1939 to James Monroe Sammons and Beulah Graff Sammons. Joey was married to Robert N. Ashby Jr. on December 20th 1957 in St. George.

Joey is survived by her husband Bob Ashby of Dammeron Valley, Utah, daughter DeeDee (Jim), son Nat deceased (Barbara). 5 grandchildren Jennifer, Nathan (Amy), Victoria (Nate), Stephan, and Evan. 2 great grandchildren Forrest and William.

Joey is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was involved with many callings of the church. Joeys favorite thing to do while living in Arizona was an annual grandkids' road trip to St. George to visit her mother Beulah. The grandkids always looked forward to the trip and a great time was had by all. She had a passion for loving, fostering, and adoptions of animals.

Services for Joey will be held Saturday, January 4th 2025, at the Diamond Valley Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 1784 Diamond Valley Dr. The viewing will be held from 9:30 - 10:30am, followed immediately by the funeral services at 11:00am. Interment will follow at the Santa Clara Cemetery.
