Janene R Leitze

Janene R Leitze, age 51, passed away on Friday, June 16, 2023, at her home in St. George, Utah. She was born in 1972 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to John R Cooper and Verlene R Shurtz. She lived in Louisiana, Maine, and Connecticut, before the Cooper family permanently moved to Tempe, Arizona.

Janene loved to be as busy as possible for the entirety of her life. Growing up, she played softball, tennis, and ran track while working a part time job. She attended ASU and BYU before pursuing a career in banking. She continued to work until the weeks before giving birth to her first child in the early 2000s. She spent the rest of her years as the most involved mom on the planet earth. 

Janene was generous, hilarious, and whip smart. She was a loyal friend and a loving mother. Her hobbies included painting, tennis, shopping, and hunting for new restaurants and recipes.

She is survived by her four daughters: Halle Simister, Abby Leitze, Charlotte Leitze, and Mia Leitze. She is also survived by her husband, Zachary Leitze, four brothers, and a sister.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 2436 E Crimson Ridge Drive at 11:00 AM. A viewing will be held the night before from 5:00-7:00 PM at the same address.
