James Robert Jensen passed away September 6, 2024. He was born August 18, 1953, to Gerald and Lois Jensen in Provo, Utah. He married the love of his life, Jannette Jensen on July 3, 1975, in Provo, later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS temple on May 17, 1997. Jim was an eagle scout, and Professional Engineer attending Ricks College before graduating with a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Utah in 1985. In his younger years he enjoyed camping, fishing, bow hunting, and riding trail bikes. Jim was an exemplar employee at Utah Power for 23 years. He had a clever sense of humor and a deep love for those closest to him. Jim also was very handy, finishing basements and always had a project to improve his home. He loved playing the organ for his teenage rock band, the blue sponge, and later enjoyed playing the piano for children in the primary. Always trying to learn and improve, he was an avid reader with his main interest being history.
He lived in Salt Lake for most of his adult life, later moving to St. George where he could enjoy riding his Honda 1800 motorcycle (Pepe) and making his wife happy. He his proceeded in death by his parents, his brother-in-law Bob Atwood, sister-in-law Darlene Reidhead, and his childhood fiend Allen Henricksen. He is survived by his wife Jannette, his daughter Liz, grandson Gabriel James, sisters Kay (Mike) Osborn, Marilyn (Mark) Ellsworth, and Dianne (Doug) Racine, sister-in-law Emily Attwood, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at the Tonaquint Cemetery. 1777 South Dixie Drive, St. George, Utah.
