Jacqueline Dawn Truman

Jacqueline Dawn Truman, age 69, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Sunday, July 23, 2023. She was born August 18, 1953, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Alfred Hal “Rusty” Key and Bette Jane Lee. She was married and sealed for time and eternity to David Dwight Truman on October 3, 1975, in the Mesa, Arizona, Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

In her youth, Jacque spent time all over the world as an Air Force sergeant’s daughter, with extended time in Japan. She graduated in 1971 from Westwood High School in Mesa, Arizona. She then attended Dixie College in St. George, Utah, where she met her future husband, David Truman, and graduated with an associate degree. She spent most of her adult life raising her 5 children and perfecting her homemaking skills, starting in St. George, Utah, then in Washington, Utah, for 7 years. They moved to Mesa, Arizona, for 6 years, then to Las Vegas, Nevada, for 34 years, and recently retired to Enterprise, Utah. Her vacations and travels were more about who she was with than about the places she went. She lived to spend time with and support her children, grandchildren, and husband. She had a special gift to make everyone feel important and loved.

She had great interest in homemaking, all things crafting, and was a master seamstress. She had a long-time love for flowers and spent 18 years working and creating life-long friends at Flowers by Michelle in Las Vegas, Nevada. She joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the age of 18, and joyfully served in many callings.

She is survived by her eternal sweetheart David Truman of Enterprise, Utah; loving children: Channi Phenald (husband Leslie) of Eagle Mountain, Utah, Melina Proffitt (husband Jeff) of Logandale, Nevada, Jacob Truman (wife Katy) of Spanish Fork, Utah, April Rotolo (husband Jacob) of Richmond, Texas, and Lori Truman of Las Vegas, Nevada; favorite grandchildren: Brandon Phenald, Carson Phenald, Ginny Proffitt, Justin Proffitt, Zachary Proffitt, Grant Truman, Drake Truman, Eva Truman, Sophia Truman, Amie Rotolo, Chloe Rotolo, Branson Rotolo and Victoria Rotolo; Brothers: Hal Key and Gene Key; and beloved brothers and sisters by marriage: Maury and Jon Putnam and Tracy and Lisha Truman.
