J Wayne King went on his heavenly trip on Saturday March 4, 2023, in St. George, Utah at the age of 86 years young. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. He was born November 16, 1936, to W. Ronald and Elizabeth J King in Malad, Idaho, Oneida County.
When J Wayne was 8 years old, he spent six months in Salt Lake City County hospital in isolation suffering from Polio and miraculously recovered, walking out of the hospital on his own.
He was called on a mission to the Toronto, Canada Mission, which included Province, Ontario, and part of the Province of Quebec. He sent a Christmas card to Mrs. Elsie Crawford and her daughter Joan. A postage stamp of him in military uniform sparked an interest from Joan. J Wayne invited her to come to Arlington for a visit and their relationship took on a sudden change as J Wayne stated “the love bug” got him. J Wayne and Joan were sealed in the Logan Temple April 20, 1962 for time and all eternity. They settled in Salt Lake City with J Wayne working at Hercules Powder Company building second stage Polaris and third stage minute-man missiles. Later, J Wayne worked for General Motors of Canada for 32 years. J Wayne and Joan lived most of their life in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. After retiring they moved to West Point, Utah and later to St George, Utah.
J Wayne is survived by his wife Joan Harriett Crawford King and his children Cheryl Ann Nabrotzky (Nephi Nabrotzky) and Steven Jay King (Jennie Creer-King). Grandchildren Christopher Nabrotzky, David Nabrotzky (Alyzza), Emilie Kate Nabrotzky, Rachéle Amber Nabrotzky, Devin Jay King (Alicia), Brayden Jay King, Tait William King.
