George Quayle Cannon, III October 12, 1931 – December 16, 2021 GEORGE Q. CANNON, III passed away peacefully December 16, 2021, at Southgate Senior Living in St. George, UT, surrounded by his loving family. George is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ardes W. Cannon; two daughters, Jan Jones (Jerry), of St George, UT, and Juli Schierman (Scott), of Casper, WY; three sons, George Q., IV (Jean), of Mesquite, NV, David (Anita), of Washington DC, and Jim (Suzy) of Kaysville, UT; sixteen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, and his sister Mary Jean Slater of Pike Road, AL. He was predeceased by two sisters; Jeanne and Mary Jane; and a brother Vance. George was born October 12, 1931, in Glendale, CA to George Q. Cannon and Irene Chipman Cannon. His family moved to Hawaii when he was 9 years old. He served an LDS mission to New Zealand from 1950-1952. After his mission, he joined the Navy and served for four years during the Korean War, and an additional four years as a Naval Reservist. On December 4,...
