Elizabeth (Beth) Ida Sessions, 87, passed away peacefully at home on May 4, 2023. Her eternal companion and her daughter were by her side. She was born January 23, 1936, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Walter Otto Klemm and Anna Frieda Uhlmann.
Beth was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, and graduated from Granite High School. She married Glen Thompson Sessions on June 8, 1956, and together they built a life of love, service, and adventure. Shortly after they married, they moved to Los Angeles, California, where they lived for ten years. She moved with Glen and their two children back to Utah in 1969. They lived in Salt Lake City, Utah, until 1990 when they moved to Easton, Pennsylvania, where they lived until 1994. After serving a mission in the Washington, D.C. Temple presidency, they went on the road for a few years in their RV. They then settled in St. George, Utah, and lived there until Beth passed.
Beth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who took advantage of life’s seasons. She loved raising her children and focused her attention on them during their tender years. When her children grew to become a bit more independent, she grew to become a master gardener who took great pride in her garden, which provided fresh fruits and vegetables for her family and neighbors. Scriptures had always been important to her, but as her children moved away the scriptures moved in as though they were part of her family. She served in many church callings and was fully committed to her membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She did not allow life to get stale for herself or her family. As an example, when someone complained that dinner was boring, she started a tradition of occasionally holding “non-boring meals.” Her humor was dry and sometimes surprising, but it always made you laugh.
She is survived by her husband, Glen T. Sessions, her son Mike Sessions (Nancy), and her daughter Sandi Jensen (Jeff). She has nine grandchildren and thirty-six (and a half) great-grandchildren. She loved her family, and they brought a smile and light to her face. To the end, she loved Glen so that every moment she was with him felt like a little bit of heaven.
