Dave Blazzard, 73, of St George, Utah passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 26, 2025.
Dave was born October 1, 1951, in Morenci, Arizona, to Max and Mae Blazzard.
Dave spent his early years in southern Arizona and particularly enjoyed Bisbee. At 10 years old Dave moved to Southern Utah. He attended Dixie High School where he met the love of his life Susan Esplin. After his service in the US Army, they married, had 5 children, and spent the next 53 years together.
He worked for Larkin plumbing and then traveled building power lines . Returning to St George in 1983 he began working for a local HVAC company where he learned many skills and in 1985, Dave and his brother Ken opened Kool Air Conditioning. They ran this successful company for many years together. Dave participated in the benchrest shooting circuit for 5 decades and won many awards. Besides shooting, he enjoyed reading, fishing, gardening, baking, and serving others. Dave enjoyed hard work and hard play.
Dave and Sue enjoyed hosting a neighborhood Christmas breakfast for many years for friends and family. Many thought of this as a holiday tradition. Whenever gathered with his family, he would be found with a little one on his lap. Dave was larger than life and had a heart as large as his stature. He had a love of learning, spontaneity and humor that he passed on to his children.
