Daniel Frank Carlson

Daniel Frank Carlson, aged 82, peacefully passed away on February 22nd, 2025, in St. George, Utah surrounded by his family. Born on August 20, 1942, in Red Oak, Iowa, he was the cherished son of Stella and Reverend Frank Carlson. Dan's parents were of Swedish descent and he was proud of his Swedish ancestry.

Dan shared a remarkable journey with Bobbi, the love of his life, for over 54 beautiful years. His life was a testament to his deep love for family and his unwavering work ethic. Known for his steadfast faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ, Dan was admired for his kindness, gentleness, and service to others. A trained chiropractor, Dan loved his vocation and pursued many other roles throughout his life as well. Music held a special place in his life and he was always actively involved in his church choir, both as a member and a choir director. Dan was very self reliant and enjoyed gardening. He was always happy being on his tractor and working on the land. Dan had a love for the temple. As a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, family history was important to him as he served his ancestors through important temple work.

He is survived by his devoted spouse, Bobbi Carlson, and their children: Danny (Katie), Chris, Cindy (Bryun), Theresa (Joe), Matt (Selene), Amy (Mike), James (Neijon), and Jon (Kela) and sister-in-laws Shirley Carlson and Reverend Betty Carlson. Dan was survived by 36 grandchildren as well as 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers Don and Reverend Dave.

A memorial service to celebrate Dan's life will be held on March 8th, 2025, at 11:00 am at the Newcastle Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (55 S. Main St., Newcastle, UT). There will be a viewing beforehand from 9:00-10:30 am. He will be laid to rest at the Newcastle Cemetery following the funeral services. All are welcome to attend.
