Clark Leonard Reber

Clark Leonard Reber, son of Leonard and Daisy Reber of Mesquite, Nevada, a beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully at home in Washington, Utah on January 13, 2025.

A cowboy, born and raised in Mesquite, Clark embraced the values of hard work, integrity, physical and spiritual strength, kindness, generosity and caring for others; that shaped his life and will continue to inspire his posterity for generations to come. Clark attended the University of Nevada, Reno on a Harold's Club scholarship. Clark later attended Brigham Young University, where he met the love of his life, Phyllis Joan Schwartz. their love was eternally sealed in the St. George, Utah Temple, on June 18, 1960.

Together, Clark and Phyllis built a beautiful family, raising nine children who brought endless joy to their lives. Clark was a devoted father and grandfather who took time to teach each child-and later, each of his 32 grandchildren-to ride horses, work hard, love life and love the gospel of Jesus Christ. Every child, grandchild, niece, and nephew knew they were his "favorite," a testament to the deep and personal love he showed to each of them.

Clark loved the United States of America and the blessings of freedom it provided and proudly served his country as a fixed wing and helicopter pilot in the United States Army and Army Reserve, serving tours of duty in Germany and Vietnam. Clark retired as a Lieutenant Colonel.

Following his military career, Clark spent 24 years in the life insurance and financial planning business with Mutual of New York, in partnership with his younger brother, Ken Reber, and loved helping his clients protect their families and plan for their retirement. Being partners and working with his brother Ken was one of the highlights of Clark's life.

Clark also served in the Utah House of Representatives for 6 years and contributed civically at every opportunity.

Clark was an active and dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved the gospel and missionary work. He and Phyllis completed three missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in Austria, Hawaii, and Italy. His unwavering devotion to the gospel of Jesus Christ and his dedication to spreading the Savior's message touched countless lives across the globe.

Clark was a man of great faith, deep devotion, and he loved his family very much. He is survived by his brother Ken (Janet) Reber, sister-in-law Jan Wagner, his wife Phyllis (Schwartz) Reber, his children William "Bill" (Lee Nguyen) Schwartz, Paul (Lisa) Reber, Jackie (Kent) Winters, Lynne (Cary) Snowden, Justin (Julie) Reber, Sam (Michelle) Reber, Valorie Brewer, Vance Reber, Sherrain Reber and 32 grandchildren and a slew of great grandchildren.
