Champson Ray Salley
December 10,2006~April 23,2022
It is with heavy hearts we announce the tragic and unexpected loss of our extremely beloved son Champson Ray Salley (Champ) on Saturday, April 23 at the age of 15.
Champ was born on December 10th, 2006, in Saint George, Utah, to parents Alicia Salley and Christopher Salley. Despite his short time on Earth, his kindhearted soul brought immense love, joy, and laughter to all those around him. Champ was a beautiful person inside and out. He was kind, joyous, caring, selfless, generous, and gracious, but the best word to describe Champ is magnanimous. Magnanimous is a lofty word; a word Champ easily met and without acknowledgement. He had a gift of caring for people, always smiling, and rarely having a bad day. He had an even-keel personality with rare emotional outburst, but when he did you knew it was important and paid attention. Champ loved a good adventure, more than anything, Champ loved to be outdoors and camping. Champ will be remembered for so many reasons; a contagious laugh, Legoland, love for adventure, great outdoors, camping, action sports, animals, donuts, and obnoxious farting that he shared with those closest to him. However, his most lasting remembrance is being an organ donor; some lucky child has the lungs of Champ. His life was a gift that we are all lucky to be a part of and share with the world.
Champ will be missed by his loving mom Alicia Salley, dad Christopher Salley, mom #2 Erica Langford, dad #2 Scott Greenwalt, sisters Elonna Greenwalt & Kaylee Shelly (Greenwalt), brothers Dyllan Greenwalt, Tanner Ward (Greenwalt) & Chandler Shelley, grandfathers Ray Salley & Danny Mullis, grandmothers Rosanne Salley, Sue Salley & Dawn Mullis, uncles Jimmy Salley, Christopher Mullis & Michael Mullis, aunt Hollie Salley, Cheryl Mullis, Kaylee Veal, Niece Paitynn Shelley, Cousins Ryan Mullis, Hunter Mullis, Marie Mullis, & Morgan Mullis, Great-Aunt Angie Mullis, Great-Uncle Jim Mullis, the Plumb family, the Comford Family, the Langford family and all family across Utah, friends, coaches, classmates, as well as anyone who has ever met him.
