Carol Haslem

Carol Boneta Haslem, 86, of St. George, Utah, passed away on February 11, 2025. Born on June 21, 1938, Boneta was a radiant individual known for her beautiful smile and warm presence. Despite numerous health challenges throughout her life, she lived fully and actively, deeply cherished as a spouse, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Boneta graduated from Uintah High School and furthered her education at the University of Utah. Her primary and most cherished career was raising her family. Later in life, she contributed her skills to personnel management for the U.S. Army at Ft. Greely, Alaska.

Throughout her life, Boneta was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was fervently involved in various church roles, notably serving with her husband on a Family History mission at the St. George Family History Library and as a family history consultant for many years.

In retirement, Boneta and her husband, Bill, enjoyed extensive travels, often accompanied by other family members. Her love for exploration and adventure brought joy not only to her but also to those who joined her on these journeys.

Boneta is survived by her loving husband, William; her daughters, Susan Hexem (Greg) and Brenda Stapp (Gary); her sister, Deon Freed; her brother, Robert Freestone (Pama); ten grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Napoleon and Emma May Freestone; brothers, Lloyd and Douglas Freestone; and sons, Scott and Mark Haslem.

Funeral services will be held at the Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 South Bluff St., St. George, on February 21st at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will take place from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m., preceding the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the LDS Humanitarian Fund, honoring Boneta's lifelong commitment to helping others.
