Brynlee Butterfield

Brynlee Cierra Butterfield returned to our Heavenly Father in the early morning hours of Sunday September 22, 2024, at the age of 18. We know she was welcomed by the loving arms of her Grandpa Wes, and Grandma Norma, along with many other family members and friends. She passed away from a tragic boating accident while on a trip to Bear Lake with her boyfriend, Alex Holm, and his family.

Brynlee was Born on March 28, 2006. Brynlee came into this world as a light, smiling from day one. Brynlee was always ahead of her time, even as a young child she began talking full sentences by 18 months. Brynlee was dancing before she came to this earth, so of course at the age of three, she started dance, but started out on the competition dance team and picked up everything so quickly. Brynlee loved music; she started out singing with her mom at a very young age. Quickly this love of music turned into her learning to play the piano, the clarinet, the flute, the piccolo, the violin, and guitar. In High School she was a member of two show choirs, the Chamber Choir Singers, a mixed choir, and the Treble Singers, an all-girl choir. Brynlee graduated as a junior from Desert Hills High school. After graduation, Brynlee attended Taylor Andrews, studying cosmetology. Brynlee passed her written state boards for her cosmetology license just a few days before her death. Brynlee was scheduled to take her practical exams the week after her accident, which we know she would have passed with flying colors. She only had a few more weeks before she could start doing what she was loving...making people pretty! Brynlee always loved hair, nails and makeup since as young as we can remember. She started learning this by viewing videos on YouTube, Pinterest and any other form long before she was attending the college.

Brynlee always had a love for people. She always made sure everyone felt her love and felt included. Brynlee loved to meet new people, and it didn't matter if she knew them for 5 minutes, they were her "best friend". Within minutes of meeting someone, she always had them smiling and laughing like they had known each other forever! Brynlee has never understood why people don't like someone, or why they couldn't get along. In Brynlee's eyes, "A stranger was just a friend she hadn't met yet."

When Brynlee found an idea of something she wanted to learn or do, she would do whatever it took to learn or teach herself that skill, it didn't matter if it was music, cooking, guns, cars, photography, hair, nails or makeup, if Brynlee wanted the do it, she would always find a way! Brynlee always had a love for the outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, or playing outside.

Brynlee loved spending time with those she loved, especially her family. Brynlee would introduce her mom and say, "This is my mom, she is my best friend!" She loved to cuddle with her mom anytime she could...didn't matter how old Brynlee was. Brynlee's siblings were also her best friends, she took them on scavenger hunts around the town, would go on Swig or Dutch Bros runs or go on taco runs late at night. She would do anything for her family, and we knew and felt it. Brynlee was equally loved by her family. She was such a joy to have around and would light up the room when she walked in with her smile and laugh. Brynlee will be sorely missed. The hole that is left in our hearts is unmeasurable. We are so thankful for a loving Heavenly Father that is allowing our vail to be thin at this time so we can feel her near. We are also so very grateful for the knowledge of Eternal Families and know that we will be able to cuddle her again, until then, we know that she will be wrapped in the arms of her Grandpa Wes.

Brynlee is survived by her Dad, Matthew, Mom, Jodie, and her siblings, Braedon, Bridger and Brikelle. Her Grandma June, Grandpa Boyd, Grandma Vickie, Grandma Debbie and Grandpa Blayde. Many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends, and the love of her life, Alex Holm.

Brynlee's Family would like to thank Utah State Parks, Rich County Sheriff, Bear Lake Volunteer Fire, Life Flight and McKayDee Hospital for providing the best care that they could for her and going above and beyond leaving no stone unturned. We would also like to thank our Fire family from Washington City Fire, Hurricane Valley Fire, and Dammeron Valley Fire for their help and support during this time. We would also like to thank our friends and neighbors from near and far for their love and support in so many different ways. We will forever be indebted for the outpouring of love we have felt.
