On February 20, 2023, our mother passed away peacefully in her sleep. She was blessed to be happily married to 3 men in her life, Ned Day, her soulmate on November 27, 1952, who died December 26, 1981. She then married Lorin Condie, on June 6, 1987, who died on November 11, 1995, and then married Fred MacLeod on November 2, 1996, who died on November 21, 2014, all who she loved.
She was married to Ned Day in the temple on March 14, 1970, and had their children sealed to them. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in several positions in the church.
Barbara was born on August 20, 1935, in Provo, Utah, to Merrill and Merle Hone. She had 5 brothers and sisters and their spouses: Ronald and Bonnie Hone (both deceased), Stephen and JoDell Hone, Gary and Diana Hone, Don and Sandy Hone, and Rebecca Clements. She was blessed with 3 children: Randall, Debbie, and Cindy. They had 16 grandchildren. The grandchildren had 48 great-grandchildren. Mom loved to crochet and knit baby blankets and afghans for her children and grandchildren. She was also tough, having survived Breast Cancer.
Barbara worked in the Banking Industry for about 55 years. She started as a Teller in Council, Idaho, and finished as a Branch Manager in St George, Utah, around 2005. Our mother loved to do several things in her life including playing the piano and the organ in church and camping with Ned. Mother didn’t measure life in years but in the number of friends, husbands, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren she was blessed to know and love.
A viewing will be held at Spilsbury Mortuary, at 110 South Bluff Street, St George, Utah 84770 at 9:30 am to 10:30am on March 4, 2023. The funeral services will be held after the viewing at 11:00 am at the same location. Mother will be interned in the Parowan Cemetery at the mouth of the canyon on Highway 143.
