Amy Michelle Tanner passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family and close friends Friday, May 19, 2023, after a fierce battle with cancer. She was born in Henderson, Nevada, to Mark Stevan Tanner and Catherine Richardson Riddle on September 25, of never, because gangsters live forever! She married Thomas David Alexander Bush Jr., and they had two beautiful children; Jaston and Truley, but they later divorced.
Amy spent most of her childhood in Las Vegas Nevada, then moved to St George, Utah, to be with her mom. After a handful of years, she moved back to Las Vegas to live with her dad until she decided to come back to St George, to stay.
Amy went to Dixie State College where she received her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. Amy believed that knowledge was power, so she furthered her education by receiving additional certificates in Phlebotomy, CNA, and Childhood Development. She used her knowledge to become a self-made entrepreneur, starting and owning a cleaning business which she eventually sold.
Amy was a fun and energetic person who was good at everything she put her mind to. Some of her favorite things were the beach, the mountains, fishing, hiking, hunting, and camping with family at Red Cliffs and surrounding areas. She also enjoyed drawing, skating, running, and especially getting out and bust a move. She would dance like no one was watching, that was just the person Amy was! Amy loved to travel. From California to Washington State and everywhere in between, whether it was for concerts, a trip to Disneyland or just a small getaway with family.
Amy loved her family & friends so much that her house was open to all. She made sure everyone felt like they were at home. Her goal in life was to spread joy and happiness and bring everyone together. However, her kids were her biggest loves, they were her world! Amy’s friends and family loved her just as much. She was commonly referred to as mom, sister, best friend, girlins, and confidant. Everyone knew she loved to cook, and Amy always made sure there was enough for all. Therefore, if anyone ever left her home hungry, it was on you! Amy loved all the little naughties. If they were around, you would find her on the floor playing right alongside them, and they all knew where the candy jar was!
She is survived by son Jaston Bush and daughter Truley Bush, Mother, Catherine Richardson Riddle, brothers; Ryan and Kyle Tanner, as well as; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is preceded in death by Father, Mark Stevan Tanner, sister, Whitney Kopenhefer, Gran, Isabel Tanner, Grandparents; Cleone and Frank Richardson and Uncle, Dale Richardson.
