[Return to Obituaries]
Our dearly beloved husband, father, son, relative, and friend Donald Leroy “Papa-Dilla” Padilla, 42, of St. George, passed away unexpectedly on May 23, 2012 surrounded by his family.  Donald was born on August 24, 1969 in Española, New Mexico to Leroy Padilla and Rosalinda Villalobos.

Donald married his best friend, soul mate, and the love of his life, Becky Snow Padilla on June 2, 1989. Together they had two sons, Anthany and Cameron. Donald was a phenomenal father. He was exceptionally proud of his boys and took pride in the men that they have become.

Donald was raised in Midvale, Utah. He attended Hillcrest High School where he met his beloved Becky. Donald and Becky were married in Sandy and made their home in Midvale. He worked for M.T.S. Freight. In 2006, Donald relocated his family to St. George, Utah and worked for The City of Washington in the Streets Department and part time at Bakston Freight.

Donald was a charismatic, loyal, ambitious, and most of all, a loving man. His heart was so full of love for everyone in his life. He loved, respected, and adored his wife and sons more than mere words can describe. Donald loved his family and friends deeply and it showed in his sparkling eyes, his heart felt smile, and most of all, his contagious laugh.

Donald was an avid fisherman. He loved to fish and would take anyone with him that would go. Donald also enjoyed cooking. According to family and friends, he was the dutch oven master and could turn a simple meal in a dutch oven into a delicacy. Donald enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was very fond of taking his wife dancing on a regular basis. Donald and Becky made trips to Los Angeles whenever they could. Each trip was full of entertainment, laughter, and fun. Even after twenty two years of marriage, Donald and Becky’s love for each other was clearly shown in their teenage like interaction with one another.   Donald enjoyed making people laugh. He had a magnificent sense of humor and presence that could brighten anyone’s day. Donald was delighted by the simple things in life but most importantly, his wife, sons, family and friends, were his life.
