St George, Utah – Jay Ellsworth Parrish, 74, passed away Friday, December 23, 2011. Jay was born July 5, 1937 in Aberdeen, Idaho to Lafayette Stanley Parrish and Fleta Elsie Galloway Parrish. Jay married Donna Marie Hansen on July 2, 1958 in Blackfoot, Idaho.
Jay and Donna lived and raised their family in Blackfoot, Idaho. Jay retired from a successful 30-year career as District Manager for the Idaho Department of Agriculture. Jay was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he enjoyed camping and boating with his family every available weekend.
Jay is survived by his eternal sweetheart & wife, Donna Marie Parrish; (daughter) RaNita Marie Parrish, (daughter) Lauri Ann Parrish Steiner (Randall Steiner), who are all currently living in St George, Utah; (son) Michael Jay Parrish (Carey Jarvis Parrish), living in Wake Forest, North Carolina; Jay has 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Jay is preceded in death by his parents, Lafayette Stanley Parrish and Fleta Elsie Galloway Parrish; sister, Edna Bernita (Parrish) Morgan; brother, LaVoyne Stanley Parrish.
In honor and celebration of the exemplary life of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Services will be held Thursday December 29, 2011 at 11:00am at Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S Bluff Street, St. George, Utah. Friends and family are welcome to attend services and pay your respects on Thursday December 29, 2011 before the services between 9:30 – 10:30am at Spilsbury Mortuary. Interment will take place in the St. George, Utah Tonaquint Cemetery.
